The Arena mentoring scheme

Our collective of mentors are here to listen, guide and inspire the next generation of talent across the fields of design and illustration.

Applications to join the sixth round of the scheme have now closed. To be notified when applications re-open, leave us your details through the button below.

Can we interest you in some Speed Mentoring?

Join us on Thursday 21st November 2024 in London as we break down barriers to the creative industry and give traditional ‘mentoring’ a fun twist with Pearlfisher.

What’s this all about then?

The mentoring scheme is not just about opening doors, but ensuring no creative breaking into this industry feels alone.

For 12 weeks, you’ll be buddied up with a mentor who you’ll meet at least 3 times over the programme and work together to tick off some career-launching tasks.

Who is the opportunity for?

Applications are open to anyone based in the UK with less than two years of industry experience, in your desired creative field.

This includes the cumulative amount of time you have spent on industry placements, doing internships, freelancing or in a full-time position in a role relevant to your desired career path.

Here’s how it all works…

If your application is successful, you’ll be invited to a kick-off call in January, and later introduced via email to your mentor. Together, you’ll agree on a pattern of video call meet-ups over the 12 weeks.

You’ll have the opportunity to get feedback, ask questions, share stories and gain advice.

We’ll host a mid-way check-in call and also a 12 week reflection session too, bringing all the mentees and mentors back together at the end of the programme to share their learnings.

Advice for your application

Assuming you’ve met the main criteria, the key thing your application is being judged on is why you want to get involved.

We want to hear about your journey - the highs and the lows, how you’d benefit from a mentor and how you’d make the most of this opportunity.

We’ll be looking at your socials, portfolio and CV to establish what level you’re currently working at, but your application isn’t being judged on this.

Note: You will need a Google account to complete the application form.
